just how effective are easy nutritional interventions compared to antidepressants? possibly very

Unless you have specific reasons to not take Vitamin D & Omega-3 — kidney stones, blood thinners, etc — please try them, for at least a month! They could save your mental health. Maybe even your life.
Vitamin D & Omega-3 may have a larger effect on depression than antidepressants

science!

did you know that your bones are hormonally active?

Osteocalcin exerts a profound influence on various aspects of energy metabolism as well as steroidogenesis, neurotransmitter biosynthesis and thereby male fertility, electrolyte homeostasis, cognition, the acute stress response, and exercise capacity.
Osteocalcin: A Multifaceted Bone-Derived Hormone
Together, loss- and gain-of-function experiments have identified the bone-derived secreted molecule osteocalcin as a hormone with a broad reach in rodents and primates. Following its binding to one of three receptors, osteocalcin exerts a profound influence on various aspects of energy metabolism as well as steroidogenesis, neurotransmitter biosynthesis and thereby male fertility, electrolyte homeostasis, cognition, the acute stress response, and exercise capacity. Although this review focuses mostly on the regulation of energy metabolism by osteocalcin, it also touches on its other functions. Lastly, it proposes what could be a common theme between the functions of osteocalcin and between these functions and the structural functions of bone.

cows use tools 🥺

We report here our experimental demonstration of flexible egocentric tooling in a pet cow (Bos taurus), Veronika, who uses a deck brush to self-scratch.

i seriously can't get enough of pre-Raphaelite artists

[Frederic Leighton's] paintings were enormously popular and expensive, during his lifetime, but fell out of critical favour for many decades in the early 20th century.

bonus fact

Leighton was the bearer of the shortest-lived peerage in history; after only one day, his hereditary peerage became extinct upon his death.
Frederic Leighton
Frederic Leighton, 1st Baron Leighton,, known as Sir Frederic Leighton between 1878 and 1896, was a British Victorian painter, draughtsman, and sculptor. His works depicted historical, biblical, and classical subject matter in an academic style. His paintings were enormously popular and expensive, during his lifetime, but fell out of critical favour for many decades in the early 20th century.

and speaking of Frederic Leighton paintings, we should consider bringing back more of the wholesome pagan festivals

Daphnephoria
Daphnephoria was a festival held every ninth year at Thebes in Boeotia in honour of Apollo Ismenius or Galaxius.

as it turns out tribbing isn't a made up word for lesbians, it has (NSFW) a whole ass etymology1 and there's an entire field of science and engineering that goes by a related name

Tribology
Tribology is the science and engineering of understanding friction, lubrication and wear phenomena for interacting surfaces in relative motion. It is highly interdisciplinary, drawing on many academic fields, including physics, chemistry, materials science, mathematics, biology and engineering.[1] The fundamental objects of study in tribology are tribosystems, which are physical systems of contacting surfaces. Subfields of tribology include biotribology, nanotribology and space tribology. It is also related to other areas such as the coupling of corrosion and tribology in tribocorrosion and the contact mechanics of how surfaces in contact deform. Approximately 20% of the total energy expenditure of the world is due to the impact of friction and wear in the transportation, manufacturing, power generation, and residential sectors.[2]

who doesn't love a good Sometimes edit?

Full length remastered version of Sometimes by My Bloody Valentine with scenes from Lost in Translation, one of the best films of the 21st Century so far.

movie ratings

recent consensus ratings from among me and my friends:

  • Bound (1996): 2.176 million lesbian finger-bangs (4 / 5)

  • Run Lola Run (1999): 200,000 deutsche mark / 5

  • Oldboy (2003): two incests out of none that should have happened 👍

1.
possibly the most clear example of a labor of love on Wikipedia? no pun intended. goddamn i love other lesbians.
